HOT AUGUST NIGHT - 2026
Lights! Camera! Action! Hot August Night was a sold-out blockbuster! LACFDA’s annual event, which celebrated our valued vendors and recognized our accomplished students, was the smash hit of the summer!
Our Hollywood Icons theme made stars of everyone. Kurt Cobain, Cheech and Chong, Lady Gaga, Bob Ross, Pulp Fiction’s Vincent Vega, Marilyn Monroe, el Chavo del Ocho, and even Lady Liberty herself, were just a handful of the colorful characters brought to life by our LACFDA members.

The evening at Rose Hills’ Hua Yuan Center began with time to mix and mingle among our vendor tables.

As any studio head will tell you - It’s all about marketing and promotion, and our trusty suppliers were on their A-Game! The room was buzzing with guests and vendors making new connections and strengthening familiar ties.

Then came the second act – dinner! Everyone moved down the halls of the beautiful venue toward the buffet. Once we all settled in for our meal, the vendor raffle began. Energized representatives from our industry had a chance to introduce themselves and their companies, and to draw a lucky winner from the business cards collected. Oh, the suspense! Who would walk away with the coveted prizes? (cue dramatic music) … Cards were drawn, winners announced and applause filled the room. Prizes awarded included: wine, gift bags and baskets, wireless headphones, gift certificates and chocolate- among other generous offerings!

The grande finale recognized our three LACFDA Douglass Family Scholarship winners: Emily Cervantes, Lucero Diaz, and Paola Conchas. Each were awarded $1,000 to put towards furthering their education in our profession. We wish them all much success!
